I know this song is mainly for black women I am an indian who is dark skinned and here people r obsessed with pale skin although more than half of the Indian population is brown skin this song really empowers me and I love black people and there beautiful culture ♥️😊

This makes me shed tears. Not because I've had issues with my skin, I'm Kenyan. But going through the comments I realize how lucky I've been to be black, born and raised in Africa. Other black women else where have been through so much. You poor things!😢😢

Every time I listen to this song I tear up. 💔 Growing up, my best friend was a very dark-skinned black girl. When we played outside she would only play with me in the shade. I asked her why and she told me she hated her skin tone and didn’t want to get darker. When we became teens, she would always talk about how she wanted my hair, she wanted my skin tone. But I’m not kidding when I tell you that she was beautiful enough to be a model. I tried to tell her for years that she was beautiful but it never got through to her... the voice of the media, the voice of people who were racist and colorist towards her, even the voice of her own family was louder than mine and she truly never believed that she was beautiful.
I hate that so many black women are taught to hate themselves from a young age. I hate all of the racism and colorism in the world. Sometimes it all feels overwhelming and impossible to get rid of. I just hope if you are reading this you know that you are BEAUTIFUL, you are WORTHY, you are NOT a mistake. You do not need to change anything about yourself. The things others try to change about you are the special qualities that set you apart and help to “tell your story.” ❤️

I'm an Indian . I know that this song is for all the black women around the world , but I feel so empowered by this song even though I'm not black. I have a very dark brown skin and throughout my life I've been ridiculed for it by friends and family ( irony is that 80 percent Indians are brown) and pressured to use lightening face products.
There are so many brown girls like me who are not black who feel empowered by this song. We are not trying to claim this song. I'm fully aware that Beyonce made this song for black women . I'm thankful to Beyonce for making me feel special too. 💓
