Adding onto that (I’m new to the community),
I think that the kid has paranoia from stress or trauma, for example if they were to have seen whet the animatronics actually are maybe they’d see the similarities in their toys they’d end up with some severe trauma or distrust.

From what I can tell the kid’s staying up from being scared so they constantly check on everything that could remind them of that traumatic experience.

Don’t quote me on anything, you’re free to correct me ‘cause I know I’m most likely wrong (due to me not knowing the storyline yet, this is my first time watching gameplay of FNAF).

Another thing to do with the toys is that the kid says they’re their friends, it could mean that they end up with severe distrust or serious trust issues.
