Most underrated Netflix original ever

"I am a old man"

Cr************:

Raw, real and simply stunning! This harrowing, grotesquely beautiful tale is "Boyhood" on Walter White's Blue Sky with more culture, music, dancing and traditions of West Africa in the first five minutes than all previous films put together. Graphic and not for the faint hearted, here's how and why juntas and rebel factions using child soldiers happen. Here's what Clooney knows, but wishes he didn't. Here's the reality you need to know. It puts things in perspective and then some. F*ck the Academy! This is the best film in 10 years.

Te*:

I watched the whole movie on Netflix this weekend. At the beginning of the movie, I found myself laughing at the children trying to sell an imaginary TV, which was pretty funny. But after that scene, there was nothing at all to laugh at. What a serious movie this one is! But this morning as I was ironing my clothes for work and was thinking about the movie again, I realized that Humanity is the beast of no nation, for allowing us to kill each other off & abusing one another for any reason. Every human-being is needed on this earth to up-keep the earth, up-keep the animals, manage this place and to protect ourselves from the real enemy - The Aliens (the unseen ones), who have us all killing one another for their Entertainment. They have fooled us all and now we're the Beasts - Humanity.

iC**********:

What's horrifying is that these children are monsters. They've raped and murdered countless amounts of innocent people, as we see in the movie. They were thrown in a war they know so little about, and in the end they lose all sense of morality. I didn't find myself cheering for Agu, because what he was doing was horrible. You could only feel sorry for him, as well as the other children he fights with, for you can tell in their eyes that war had corrupted them.

Also, I would like to praise Abraham Attah for his performance in this movie. There isn't much dialogue, but when they're is it is absolutely amazing. Down to his eyes, Attah plays Agu like he is experiencing it right at that moment. Idris was astonishing as well, however Attah was on-par with his performance (and Idris has been in the business for a while, Attah is a child). Watching the film, you feel what Agu is feeling. You only know the basics as to why they are fighting, and even then it seems so vague. Just like the child mercenaries, we don't know why the war is happening; all we know is that they must fight.

I'm so glad that a movie like this is being made, for the armed children in Africa often go unnoticed.
