I didn't comment before when I watched this for the 20th time but all I can say is that when u go for a couple months without watching something from ur fav Youtuber(s) it feels like it's new all over again....at least to me it does

The creatures are talking to the little kids. When they have the text it’s not you talking to the shadow or the shadow talking to you. It’s the children’s deepest thoughts and insecurities. The shadows are more like a metaphor for the children’s mental disorders and their biggest worries.

I like how this developer made the other badass game “Little Misfortune.”

With Isabelle and Robert, I think I can guess what happened to them.

What the shadows say reflects the children's trauma, be it prior abuse or simply loosing their young minds.

It's easiest with Robert. "I say I care while letting you die of hunger and thirst", "I say I love you while teaching you to hate yourself", and "I say you're beautiful while feeding you poison to eat." Robert had neglectful parents. They did the bare minimum and were overall harmful when trying to back peddle. They would say they loved him, but all his life he didn't think he was worthy their attention. They would say he was beautiful, but they wouldn't give him healthy food for him to feel beautiful. They would say they cared when everything said otherwise.

With Isabelle, it's a bit less straight forward, seeing as the shadow stroking her hair doesn't speak. But what Fran says can give a bit of insight since she acts like she and Isabelle are friends. With the absence of words from the shadow, Fran's behavior around her, and what Fran says about being afraid to die, it's most likely that Isabelle had mentally abusive parents that scared her into compliance and then acted like they cared. It explains why she's always sleeping (she might have been afraid to sleep before), and why the shadow acts so caring yet so distant.

I named my black cat after Mr.Midnight and we had to give him away because my dad could not take care of him anymore(and the other 7 cats, I got to keep one:3) so now every time I watch this game I just get sad, but I still enjoy the videos!

For some reason I felt like watching a bunch of horror games today-

So I think what happened was that the “king” and the little girl were sexually abused as the shadow was saying sexual stuff that happened to the king and the little girl had hand prints on her chest, thighs, and her bed. The guy right next to frans room seems that he suffers from paranoia (as the paper says). Isabelle is a bit harder to know though. I think that she suffered from sleep paralysis, as if she looked like she has passed out and the monster is touching her as she sleeps (I’m not really sure though) and the guy next to Isabelle looked like his parents would mentally abuse him. They would say that they cared about him (things like im doing this because I love you etc.) while also not feeding him or making him do things to him that he may not want to. The guy with the mask in the cafe looks like he has personality disorder as he hides his face from the world and the shadow says “oh little boy, everyone is ashamed of you” I could be wrong about these btw

I just remembered about this game, and now that I think about it having meds do that to you is terrifying. I’ve been needing to start on meds recently since I have extremely bad anxiety (so bad I can leave the house without possibly having a panic attack) and depression. Maybe even PTSD and anorexia, my family and me suspects it but we haven’t confirmed it with a therapist or anything. I’ve been worried I’ll somehow overdose of the meds when I eventually get them and now this is kinda making me even more worried
