Almost every character in this movie is a representation of the Seven deadly sins
Arvin is Wrath has he harbors the feeling of vengeance and does not hold back against those who hurt his loved once
Preston is Lust , I think it's obvious from the fact that he uses his position as a preacher to sexually abuse women including his own wife.
Roy is Pride as his immense pride in his faith blinded him
Lee is Greed as he wants more power as a Sheriff and won't stop at all costs to get it
Helen is Sloth as she did nothing to tone down the religious fanatism of her husband
Sandy and Carl are Gluttony as they kept satisfying their twisted fantasies without stopping
Willard is Envy as in his head he saw that God didn't answer his calls to save his wife but answered to other people which drove him insane

Really like this movie, it's so deep. Lot of lessons, like not all we thought good people is actually good but they can be deceiving too.
Not all people who made such sins is actually that bad, we just don't know & don't understand their story.
Not all we know who died killing themselves actually wants to be dead. But when they stop breathing, their story ends and no one can tell em coz they die alone.
Last Not all who smile in pictures is happy and loving what their doing. We don't know whats behind those camera.

Hope this movie let some people realise to stop judging someone's life and just mind our own coz we're all facing something through and let's try to understand the world and live.

Exceptional film. Love, loss, and the inevitable hereditary patterns we follow are all themes that carry throughout the entire film. Holland, Patterson, and Skarsgard (hell the entire cast, really) gave an exceptional performance. I completely forgot that this was a Netflix Original, and feel that this movie is easily comparable to your favorite Coen brother's film. You spend the majority of your time rooting for Holland's character, the singular hero of the story, whom ironically is the only overtly non-religeous person shown on screen. "The (appropriately titled) Devil All the Time" stands out in my mind as one of the best films of 2020.
