So, he doesn't read a book a day. He reads a chapter of a book a day.
Th********************:
Fundamentally, if you're reading a book a day but not because you love books, your life isn't going to feel like it has been improved all that much. Anyway, as a person who loves books and literature, I would say quality is more important than quantity.

So much talk. So little substance

TED talks are a bit like YouTube or the Internet - you have to sift through a lot of piffle to get the good stuff. This video counts as piffle; a classic self-help argument, "Here are some successful people who have something in common. Therefore that's the answer." The examples and quotes he uses don't always tell you what he thinks they tell you. The simplistic instructions are worthless, and the idea of skimming a book a day seems pointless, even though he suggests that many of the books he's already read, or actually reads more slowly. There's nothing about how to choose a good mentor, or what your conversations with the mentor might include. The perseverance comment is interesting; I suspect there is a lot of survivor's bias in this, which is common to every single book/talk/Instagram post about success; for everyone that spent ten years perfecting the light bulb or getting to have dinner with Bill Gates, there are probably hundreds who wasted years, exhausted themselves and ended up with nothing. It's true that only the luckiest few get much without working, but it's probably worth having a more rounded life, a Plan B, and acknowledging (which millionaires, motivational speakers and royalty rarely do) that there is a massive dollop of luck involved in every success story.

Let me tell you why I read a comment a day (and why you should too): the law of youtube.

I don't see any relation to the title, and even when the speaker talked about reading, he meant speed reading which of course excludes novels and great works of art. If you are reading success books only, and you accustom yourself to do that speedily, be sure that you might get a promotion at your work, and you might learn useful tricks to step up your business, but you won't be able to know what it is like to enjoy the actual process of slow reading, you will lack the imagination to understand the world of the text, and you will slowly damage your ability to relate to the experiences of the characters.
[TEDx Talks] We gathered comments about popular videos and looked at them in summary, including play time, and order of popularity.
It's a good video or channel, but if you're sad because it's too long, please leave a YouTube channel or video link and I'll post it on this blog.
