Hmm, do i know a person that loves gadgets, science and food.... ME!

Ri********:
Love this in my microwave. Never will spill porridge again

To*************:

u sir are a genius

Re*******:

I gotta say mark your ideas truly amaze me, and I love the vids.

er*******:

Awesome, I wan't you to invent something to tell when my beer is cold too.

Is*************:
Wont the heat map just be measuring surface temp, so might hot pocket might look hot but the inside will still be cold.

Ar**************:

I remember growing up on the plains of Africa, hoping to not cook my Hot Pocket too long, lest I burn my tongue.

Za*******:

Why is this dude so damn smart! Good luck with it buddy

Jo****:
It should also have programmable settings from the app. For instance, my popcorn button is constantly 20 over and burns it. Using the app I should be able to adjust and set the time on the popcorn button. I also heat water for tea for 3 minutes. There should be a quick button that I can program for items that I constantly use (i.e. speed dial). Hit the quick button then hit (1) which I have set for tea and it just goes. 2 quick presses as opposed to 4 with lots of movement.

AD*******:
Brilliant Mark! I hope this is a successful project! As a warning, be cautious if you take the manufacturing over seas. There are lawless lands over there regarding patents.

In addition to this awesome idea, you have the opportunity to introduce another sought-after feature to the microwave industry: quiet mode. Just press a button or set up a timer so that the microwave doesn't scream into the night, informing all of your sleeping neighbors and loved ones of your midnight food binges.

r u a wizard

Ga**:
Man I'm old. I recognized the original Zelda sound effect.

Ja***********:
I think this would definitely qualify as over engineering. A good amount of not terribly expensive microwaves now monitor the cooking process. My microwave from LG has sensor cook and sensor reheat options that work tremendously well. I use those two buttons for literally everything I put in. It controls not only the cooking time, but power and rotation of the dish as well. I just think this is kind of a non-starter. Good luck though!

The Zelda sound effect. Classy

Su***:
That is one of best simple inventions I have heard of or seen in a long time, Im looking forward to having one in my house!

La********:
I really respect your approach. Kickstarter is a great idea, but it can't sustain everybody's dream.

Over range microwave ovens could benefit from this, since these appliances tend to be a lot more expensive than the countertop microwave. Microwaves with these features, would be the 'Pro' version of current ovens.
I've done the microwaving a bit different lately, I would microwave the food for at least 3 or 4 minutes, then let the microwave sit for 5 minutes, then continue cooking, but with 30 seconds or so added to the cooking time.  Seems to be fewer hot/cold spots that way.

You would need this on foods, that require critical cooking times like 3 minute pizza, where adding just 10 to 15 seconds to the cooking time, will kill the pizza.   The camera should have both infra-red, and regular video modes, plus the ability to pause the microwave from the smartphone.  Another one is a smoke detector that stops the cooking in an instant, if the food is over cooking.

El*******************************:
I need this in my kitchen, probably everyone :D

St*********:

@*****  What if you also programed the carousel/turntable to slow down or stop when the coldest part of the food item was under the hot-spot in the microwave? Use any uneven dispersion of microwaves to your advantage.

Po*********:
I always thought using a microwave was for the lazy. I'd much rather cook a real meal than use a microwave. Now the technology will allow people to be even more lazy. However, that is just my preference and I still use microwaves for warming up leftovers.

I fucking love this invention! Bravo! This would be great for defrosting something while you're on your way home. Assuming the device is networked.

An*********:
I love the zelda sound :D

Pa****:
That is genius idea.

Ja**:

Damn dude you're gonna bank on this.

tr******:
Hang on a minute. There's a gas stove right beneath a microwave oven. Wouldn't the heat and all the vapour/steam off the stove play havoc with the microwave oven where it's positioned? Yes, I very much think so.

Th*****************:

Win....pure win!!!

I tip my hat Sir!

Ky*******:

mark is a genius. that's all I have to say.

In*******:
But how does it know the temperature INSIDE the center of your food? We've all burned our mouths on hot pockets only to find them cold on the inside.

As*********************:

I've grown so skeptical for all the start-up, kid-with-a-dream sort of inventions and ideas because they're so ridiculously crappy most of the time that I don't have a clue why I even started to watch this one. I'm so glad I did! Great idea, I'm signing a petition and keep my fingers crossed :)

An******:

Who cooks bacon in the microwave?

Tr********:
Mark has done it yet again. Mark is about to become a billinionare in some years with this, mark my words haha. Beautiful ingenuity, Mark!

Sp*******************:
This is a great idea. I hope you can get enough people interested.

Si*********:
Liked, subscribed and signed! Thank you for your channel and awesome idea on the microwave.

ma************:
I'm looking forward to your next video when will it be out? (BIG FAN)

Th******************************:

Sub for being awesome! and making awesome videos!

AC*******:

Wow! This is a great idea. Definitely would buy

Ma***********:

I don't know hos feasible this would be, but instead of buying a whole new microwave with this tech, wouldn't it make more sense to buy an attachment to the one that's already in your kitchen? Sure, you would lose some features like stopping automatically when done or adding time to the cooking, but it would be much more accessible as a separate gadget.

It's a great concept, but I would not pay for a microwave with a screen in it, although I might buy one that could send the images to my phone. Build on the concept of sending the images to a phone, because most people have that screen in their pocket already.

Er*****:

This is A FREAKING EPIC IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol its really funny too because a friend and I just now realized that this is a major market a few days ago too. We were just sitting there talking about food and then started complaining about how we often end up burning our food after forgetting it momentarily... or just not cooking it right the first time. Then we started to think of ways you could fix that by like using some kind of sensor to tell if something is cooked all the way.. but couldn't figure it out (we kept thinking of probe like sensors that would have to be heat resistant enough to not wiz out in a hot oven or microwave... Who would've thought the answer was not in probes but in imaging sensors! You are a Awesome sir!

Definitely signing the petition and telling more folks about it!!!!

BTW, are you just creating camera/screen addons or a whole new microwave? If the latter what will it look like? Would you mind if I send you product design ideas? (I just want to see if I can design something cool :)

Crap, my beef patty is probably burned now...

Edit: Nevermind, it still wasn't cooked all the way -__- Oh and your Facebook link is broken!

Cr*****************:
I think you have a great idea, and I also think a lot of people would buy this.  Even without the large screen, the automatic shutoff feature would be enough to make it a huge improvement.  Personally, having grown up with a microwave and then learning how to use a toaster-oven, I far prefer the way food tastes coming out of a toaster-oven.  Even if it takes far longer.  Still, I hope this works out for you.  I really hope the investors go for your idea.  One last thought, having seen many messy microwaves, make sure the camera cover is easily cleanable; I know what happens when people don't cover certain things before putting them in.  (Have you tested items covered with wax paper?)

Fo*********:
I love this idea, it's innovative but simple :) I'd personally love this if I used the microwave but I don't anymore. I eat as healthy as possible at my current level of research and part of that requires not using a microwave. Too many studies show how Microwaves dramatically destroy healthy proteins and other nutrients, so if anything microwaves could use a complete overhaul in general. There are superior methods of heating using sound frequency etc., but this industry doesn't allow for it as it would change their profit methods. Amazing idea, great video.
