My car makes like a weir high pitched squealing noice while my car is going 20mph+ the faster i go the louder and faster pace the sound gets and it only happens when i let off the gas... Could that be my wheel bearings as well?

Ea*******:
This is an awesome, and helpful video! I have a 08 Cadillac Escalade & the dealership was telling me that it was the Differential Ring and Pinion that was making that noise...

Now that I know and I'm 100% my front wheel bearing is going bad makes hella noise ama try to fix it myself and buy the parts! plus I could use some experience, tired of going to the mechanic. For beginners like me this was so helpful Thank You Chris!!!

Br************:

Thank you for your detailed explanation. Very good! Cheers

Ry******:
Chris. I am new to your Chanel. Have not come across a how to video on how to replace a head gasket. Do you have video on that?

De********:
Hey Chris,

Thanks for the video brother! I wasn't completely decided that i had a bad bearing in my 05 Malibu but watching your video, clearly showed me that i am 99% right that it is....The sounds and grinding is exactly what i am experiencing.

Cheers, and thanks again.

Mr******:
Would you recommend changing both wheel bearings? Or just the troublesome one? Mostly wondering about the uneven tire wear, as well as simply keeping everything consistent and symmetrical!

Ja**********:

I'm from Jersey, Chris is definitely a Jersey guy.

Ch******:
If my driver side makes noise, like a scratchy noise only when I turn right. What can it be

Ja********:
Hey Chris, love your videos! Thank you! 53 still learning everyday. Peace..

Th*********:

I can hear that diference his talking about, i didn't know that mean't the bearing or bearing's where bad.

re*****:

Ford is notorious for bad wheel bearings.. like on my explorer

Re**********************:
Woah I can see part of your face.... I need to sit down and have a glass of wooder...

Ma********:

Hey Chris. Another great how to video. I would add that you should have also spun the wheel on other side to hear the good bearing for comparison.

bl*********:

Start my morning with a Chris fix video and corn flakes. The more you know !

Ti*******:
I think this is the most I've ever seen of his face

ru*******:
I had that noise so I took my 2010 Tacoma to the Toyota dealer and they said I had a bad transmission mount. They replaced the trans mount under warranty but that did not fix the problem. It was the wheel bearings. Had to fix it myself. Dont trust them dealers!

Pe***********:

Thanks Chris!

it*********:
Can it be mistaking as a Bent CV axle?? Or possibly cause premature wear on it?

Je*******:
great video. im having the same sound as you describe and i remember that i had seen your video before... so i check it and my had no play but it has the sound when i drive also when i push the brake.. should i just change it... and see if that fix the problem also if i change one side do i need to do it in pairs??? thanks

Da**********:

Just replaced my driver's side front hub on my 2010 Altima today. He is absolutely spot on that excessive play may not be present. No play at all, but loud howling/grinding. I'm going to see if I can dismantle the bad hub to see the bearing itself, very curious what it looks like. I was lucky that nothing was rust-fused, and that I have bolt on vs. pressed hubs! ChrisFix is fantastic!

jo*********:

You have really helped me. I now believe my mechanic wasnt trying to scam me. This video was so damn good. Many thanks!!!!!!

St**************:

Thank you for being so thorough!!! I just watched a video and the guy had his radio playing loudly while trying to show the noise from the bad bearing!

Ma************:
Thanks Chris, your videos are the best! I have a question. When I reverse my Chevy Tahoe and turn left I also hear this clakking sound coming from the left front wheel. While the wheels are on the ground, the left lower ball joint appears to almost touch the rim, while the right one is clearly farther away from the rim. I've done your tests and it seems that I have to replace every tie rod and ball joint. When doing the 12/6 o'clock test, the wheels did not move, but with the 3/9 o'clock, both front wheels presented with lots of movement. Rotating the wheels, the left one rotated much slower with a sound like the brakes are not releasing properly. What would your advice be? Also the rubber boots on either side of the vehicle (the left and right side ball joints and tie rods) are shot, grease everywhere except inside the boots. Can it be a bad wheel bearing too? I bought the car some 3 years ago. Seems like it is best to replace them all. Kind regards, Marinus.
