Awesome headlights restoration Chris, however a Jamaican walked up to me when I was about to restore my headlights and said "try some Ajax on a damp cloth mon - den use a good wax an yuh get de best shine sah...no problem" he was right!

WV***:

This was never a problem when they made the damn headlights out of glass

Br*******:
You can also use 1200 grit wet sand and buff.apply wd40 for prevent future oxidation.

Yo************:
I would advise using micromesh up to 12k.

To******:

try brasso.. I used it on my ports on my sailboat, and cleared up the hazing

Co************:

Thank you so much! I called the place where I bought my car and they wanted $150 and they promise to only 90% clarity. Heck with that I’m doing this! Thank you

Ro****:

Perfect! Did this with my car, my truck, my mother's van, AND a friend's BMW SUV (he was about to spend nearly a THOUSAND BUCKS at the dealer!).

Co*********:

Can you clean the inside the the headlights in anyway? I could watch other people but i would honestly rather see you do it

Do*******:
man if i used a dremel it will drive me crazy trying polish the headlight.

Do*******:

Hey Chris. First thing, I love your videos, there great. I noticed on my headlights that they are yellowed and not pitted/dirty on the outside. I have a 2000 mazda b3000 and I am about to put some new bulbs in. Is there anyway I can clear the headlights from the inside? Yellowed headlights are normal hear on the coast of Texas. It sits around 80% humidity most of the year.

TB****:

I think I will try bug spray and then toothpaste and see what happens .

Ke**********:

They need to bring back glass headlights . Thank you for this video now maybe I can fix my mom's lights

Ka*******:
Used this method on my cadi worked great!! Used some degreaser with my sand paper as well worked like magic.

ja*****************:

I'm dissapointed, you didn't say "and check that out!" at the end :) hahahaha

Fe********:
Replacing standard halogen lights with LED lights will dramatically cut down on heat that aids in colorization and eventual brittleness of plastic lenses.

An*************:

Hi Chris, 3M has the most expensive kit comes with clear coat wipes. What do you think of that? I have used them on a several different projects and the last coat makes headlights shinier but sometimes cause some fine lines or very tiny bubbles!

ke******:
ynw melly

ZA***********:

Jo**************:

I used 1000
grit sand paper with a sanding block and to make look brand new i spray it with clear coat paint.

Tr*****:

Hey chrisfix. I would like to thank you for all your videos. This one in particular saved my wife and I about $400. Her headlights was so bad she couldn't see at night. After using the tips in this video she has no problems at all. It is like they are brand new. I would like to post the before and after pics but don't know where to do it on your Facebook page. Please if you can let me know. Thank you.

Did most of what u did but no dremal, no toothpaste.then at the end put 3 layers of clearcote on it. Came up like new

Ro*********:
Hi Chris, I’m off topic here. But my Cadillac CTS headlamps have what I assume is cloudy blotches internally. I believe that it was caused by moisture getting inside the lens. This car has the HID bulbs and do the replacement lenses are much more expensive that that halogen units. I’m wondering if you might have any thought on how I might get rid of the cloudy areas after removing the lenses from the car. Is there a liquid product or a way to get at those areas with plastic polish, perhaps? I know that I’m reaching, here, but replacement lenses cost nearly $500 a pair.
Thanks for any help at all or for just giving it some though.
Ron

tried this method and completely ruined my headlight lol Here are my personal notes: 1. if you do this out in the open, be aware that derbis will often fall on your headlights. Wind kept bringing in dust, pollen, and other junk. Best to do it inside a garage with garage dooe opened. 2. Use newspaper instead of a plastic bag. Many of the trash bags are made to resist cutting. I had a hard time cutting a bag even though the scissors were new! Also when I remove the tape from the bag, a gust of wind blew the air into my headlights and got stuck. Gonna try again and see how it goes.

Fr********:

After trying many different headlight restoration kits, and spending over a hundred dollars, not to forget the labor I put into trying to make these products work, I figured out the perfect way to get clear headlights again. I shopped online and bought replacement headlights. It took me less time to instal them, and now they are perfect. I did have to realign them as to not blind my fellow motorist driving the opposite way. I am very happy now and tell all my friends, to just buy new headlight assemblies and save time, and aggravation.
