Me: how come we have so many ingredients for toothpaste today?

Today, we do not understand the mechanism of action of most drugs. But we still use them because they work. So.... yeah, if you discover moldy flat bread cures staph infections, you deserve some credit for that.

Ch***********:

They're really smart to invent a lot of things

Et*********:

This is not what the title says

Re********:
Introducing... Bright side, have no idea what theyre doing, telling lies! yay!!!

Se*************:

Missleading title. It is not the strange way of life of Egyptions, but reather what they did before us: invented table, care about teeth, use iron...

Ta**********:
"Is it really a discovery when you don't know what you discovered?"

Idk ask Christopher Columbus.

Ya*******:
Before 5000 years the ancient egyptians play a game whit cards in another dimension called the shadow ralm.
This game was called Yami no Game.
Now its called YU - GI - OH!

Ac******:
Number 14 is incorrect, as the Sumerians were the first to develop a written language.

Ha********:

Imbedded in the wrappings of king Tut was a iron or steel forged knife. What was really interesting is that the weapon showed no corrosion. Tests done in the last few years confirmed that the metal was at least 15% nickel. The same percentage that a well known meteorite contained that fell in the western part of the country. The photos I saw of the knife should a high degree of refined skill that was used in forging. This was not a crude object, it was beautifully made.
To me that suggested that at least a few blacksmith had cultivated the skills needed to construct such a weapon.
The nickel prevent any corrosion and it appeared as if it was made very recently.
No aliens did not make it. This was done by very skilled humans using handed down knowledge.
I hate this alien BS and I wish people would stop believing such stuff.

L*:

They also inspired the entire Christian religion

An**************:
The Mesopotamians where the first people to have a written language, and a lot of other really important things like laws

Sa**********:

Uhm... Egyptian mythology fans? Anyone? Just me?

Ni**********:
When it comes to their use of medicine....what’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. They obviously understood enough so yes they did discover it. They were the first

Pr*********:

I hate it when nothing in the video refers to the thumbnail. Clickbait! And the Egyptians were certainly NOT the first to deliver their children from a squat position. It's still considered the best way to bring forth new life (with gravity working FOR you)!

pr**********:
All the girls be thankful to egyptians

La***********:
The Egyptians were really ahead of their time.

Br**********:
It's quite widely proven and excepted the Ancient Sumerian Cuneiform writing predates ancient dynastic Egyptians by almost a couple thousand years.

Ky*******:
I say yes they discovered it. They don’t have to have a scientific name to understand that it heals.

As***********:
Their eye makeup also contained lead as a prophylactic measure against eye infections

Mi**************:

This video has audio issues.

Also....everyone knows the Egyptians played Yu-Gi-Oh!

ca**********:
King tut was 9 years old when he became king of egypt

o*:

How is it gross to have a wig made of human hair? Humans donate hair all the time for cancer patients to use...

Ca***********:
All these ideas were stolen from Egypt... and later said to be patterned in Europe and US....

Ka**************:

According to egyptian mythology, the last five days of the year were the days the five major gods of egypt were born. Nut, the sky, was pregnant with Geb, the earth, and her's baby. And when Ra heard abour this, he banned her from giving birth after he heard a prophecy from somewhere about one of Nut's children taking his place. So, after trying to find ways to give birth, Nut went to her brother, Thot, who to the moon god, Khonsu. The pair gambled for moonlight. And after just enough time, Nut had enough moonlight to make five days, which she placed at the end of the year. One day, one child. Osiris was born first, then Horus, then Set, then Isis, and lastly Nephthys. Those last days of the year were called the Demon Days.

kn****:

"Without a way to record information there would be no way to store and pass on knowledge to the future generations." That's not a factual statement. Before writing was invented there was what can be called rote learning. Before the invention of writing the way to pass on information was to memorize the information with continual repetition. A simple example is like when I was younger I was made to memorize the pledge of allegiance. To this day, though I never really use it, I still remember it. So to say that "there was no way... to pass on knowledge" is misleading. Before writing people relied upon their own brains to "store information and pass it on". If one asks where is the proof that they did this, that's proof enough to show that some people needed writing because they didn't use their brains. In other words it's actually common sense on what communication first started as. Communication through words passes on information even to this day.

The Ancient Egyptians most likely got the brains for the eye remedies from deceased citizens.
If you did not know, when Egyptians mummified bodies, they took out the organs and put them in jars and vases for later. However, they did not know what the brain was used for. They had no idea that it was an important part of the body. Therefore, they threw it away. However, it is likely that they stopped throwing all of them away and saved a few for these eye remedies. I’m not sure if this is 100% correct, but this makes sense to me. (However, it is 100% fact that the Egyptians did not know what the brain was used for and threw it away. This I know. It would just make sense if they used the brains from already deceased civilians, since they didn’t know what the brain was for why would they have murdered someone to acquire it? Just my thinking.)
