Playtime Comments : [Veritasium] 6단계 분리 법칙의 과학

Da******:

7:52 “How comforting it is that we know how closely we are all linked”

8:04
“Six handshakes, will connect you to anyone else on the planet”

Covid: snaps fingers

Bo*****:

8:55 When you discover you're watching a 9 minute advertisement for a show.

Vi**********:

“Imagine you have 44 friends”
me among the left out buttons on the table 4:33: don't give me hope

wa*******:

1:57 That woman in the purple shirt with her eyes darting back and forth lmao

Bl**********:

1:57 look at the girl with the pink shirt on the right when he says
"You will be connected to the queen"

Ra*************:
4:37 - "...you're just as likely to be connected to someone here in Manila, as you are to someone in your own town."

Literally true for me, since I'm from Manila. As a longtime Veritasium viewer, it felt weirdly pleasant to recognize the orange building beside/behind you as you were filming, and I guess this further shows how much of a small world we live in.

Ap**************:

3:37 that background really messed with my mind

Kh**************:
4:34 I’m sure he had fun untangling that

Li*********:

0:53 Dude on the right looks like the MySpace hacker after taking down MySpace taking a hike "Nope I'm outta this country"

St**********:

4:32 Backwards backpack guy was like, "Nah, fam I'm just here to shop I'm not trying to get into any video."

Anyone here during the COVID-19 outbreak, realizing that shaking hands basically means that I shook hands with everyone

IS*************:

"Imagine you have 44 friends"
Look i'm going to have to stop you right there because that's just crazy talk

He had me at "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon"

To the singles, you're only 5 steps away from your future wife/husband!

Ju******:

Mr****:

St**********:
I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows...

You! :o

Sa**********:
"7.26 billion people, more than are alive today" How cute

Au*******:
I love when he's walking through crowds and people just eye him

Fa***************:
Here's mine:

My mother has a friend, that friend also has a friend, and that new friend is the secretary to Andrew Young, and Andrew Young has met president Barack Obama.

Ja*****************:
I know a guy who knows Kevin Bacon. That makes everyone reading this 3 degrees or fewer from Kevin Bacon. My first name is Jim, by the way.

Ev***********:

8:08 everyone is looking at him like "Who the hell are you talking to?"

JN******:

"imagine you have 44 friends"
god dammit

Bi**************:

UPDATE THE DESCRIPTION AND LET US KNOW IF IT WORKED DAMN IT!

No**:
I love watching all the confused people in the background

Mi**********:

'Imagine you have 44 friends.'

;(

Se**:
Wow, just noticed, there are a lot of Hungarians in your videos :D

Sh****:
Weird anecdote to start with:
"You're too good at something; you can't do it for 3 years."

Meanwhile, with bankers that crashed the global economy:
"you're a bad banker and a bad person; please be careful in your next banking job."

Th*********:

All those people staring at Vertasium confused why he was talking to thin air

le*********:
yep 6 degrees of separation is alive and well on YouTube, my audience all drift to PewDiePie and never drift back. I would argue on this closed network all channels are at least 3 clicks away from each other. And PewDiePie always seems to be the common connection. In the early days of YouTube FRED was the common link channel to everyone.

Ki************:
I hope Brady is ready for the wave of people asking him to forward their email to Derk.

Br***********:

"Do you like statistics?"

"Frigyes!"

El**********:

That fully explains the thing on steam:
If you click on the highest level friend on your friends list and the highest on their list, you'll eventually get to Palm Desert, the highest leveled person on steam. (Sometimes this doesn't work, but those are very rare cases of high levelers with barely any friends).

Pe********:

Those people in the Philippines think you're insane. Just saying...

li********:
I wouldn't be struggling, getting into and out of depression, and finally becoming a power-thirsty monster that I am today if I had a friend (let alone 44 of them). Not only I have never had a friend, but also I've had very few acquaintances all my life.

me*******:

"Just 6 handshakes will connect you to anyone else on the planet" - Corona Virus liked this.

St***********:
Swedish TV Profiles Filip and Fredrik made a series of shows called "Jorden runt på sex steg" which tries to proove that they can reach a target person in the world by randomly picking someone anywhere and then try to connect themselves one step at a time to a person that is closer to the target person - and I think they succeeded in every episode. From an old woman somewhere in Asia, living her whole life in the village where they found her, they were still able to connect to the target, a swedish celebrity, in just six steps. Episodes are not online, but here is the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10153530294936071

Ka**********:
There's these two swedish television personalities that made a show to try this concept. In one episode they started out in a small remote village with no water or electricity in the desert in Namibia, they choosed a old lady as the first person in the chain and managed to connect her with Michael Bolton in just 6 steps. They start by asking the first person if they know someone who might get them closer to the target (michael bolton in this case) and travel to that person and continue doing the same til they get to the target. The lady knew a guy that worked in the tourism industry, he knew someone in Isreal, and so on. In another episode they connected Gordon Ramsay with a old lady in a remote village in Nepal. Its amazin how this actually worked on several people in just 6 or7 steps. The show is called "Jorden runt på 6 steg" hosted by "Filip och Fredrik"

Je***********:

This six degrees of separation becomes even more interesting when you add an element of time to it. Say for example, how many degrees are there between you and a historical figure? Obviously the further back in time the figure you are wanting to connect with the greater the number of degrees of separation. This can make it really interesting to know old people who have themselves known old people in their younger days. You may not get to experience history first hand but even so second and third hand may provide a greater degree of insight than you would get from newspapers or even history books. In my case, perhaps two decades ago now I spent some time with a man in his eighties who as a child had spent time with an older figure, allowing me to time travel a century and a half.
