Haha, i did this on my xb before I discovered this video. I was driving to Brea CA from Van Nuys amazingly it was raining. I was doing 72mph and didnt even use my wipers, freeway was soaked. Wax is so much cheaper than using rainx.

stay away from amonia. use stonners or armorall all window.  use micro fiber not paper. you will micro scratch your window.       clean, clay,   the clay will clean it better, wax is fine but degrades qicker than a bonding sealer such as aquapel  or rain clear or rain x

Maybe the wax lasts longer, but personally, when I compare my windows to yours, Rain X seems to bead better.  I watched this other guy's video on how to super clean your windows, he just uses 0000 steel wool, I tried it and it worked great.  Only, I had a bunch of steel wool lint everywhere, so I had to use a cloth to get that off before doing the rainx, but I found his method of applying it twice, then wiping up the haze with a damp cloth worked great.  When I drive in the rain the water flies off, light mist is still annoying though. lol  I prefer to not use my windshield wipers at all, because it just wears off the stuff.

Carnuba works OK, but Rain-X works MUCH better.

I also tried silicone wax, and it worked no better than carnuba wax. Rain-X works so well I have sold 3 vehicles that had unused factory wipers on them. My current pickup is 5 years old, and I've never used the wipers. In heavy rainstorms I pass people pulled over because they can't see, and my wipers are not even running. Night driving is even better than daytime driving with Rain-X

Hmmm... for that statement, i don't agree.
But, offcourse this is an easy to apply for people.

I've been doing this for years! I told my boss about this, when I worked at a detail shop. He said it didn't make sense, and to not do it.

Ammonia based window cleaner can dull out window tints if you have them. Also, make use of old newspaper; crumple up a piece or two and "scrub" your windows, its the best thing to get dirt and bugs off your windshield next to clay barring. Adding one more layer of wax can actually help water to "sheet" off windows/windshields.

I use a clay bar on my windshield after cleaning with a glass cleaner. It removes a lot of surface impurities making the windshield very smooth.

Nu-finish works pretty well, Rain-x destroys all rubber it comes in contact with. Clean your windows really well use Nu-finish and get some great quality silicone windshield wipers it will be worth the investment and like the results.

Nanolex is some of the best stuff to use itll bead and roll off much easier than wax and last between 18 months and 2 years
