If anyone's struggling with YouTuber burnout, try to shift your paradigm from what you were used to to what you're getting right now

I used to get 400k views on average and when it dropped I also assumed it must be the quality, but now I get about a tenth of the views on average and it feels like the new normal, leading to excitement when a video goes even up to 100k which used to feel low

Also just try to spend less time focusing on views and spend more time reading comments and interacting with your community, they probably still appreciate you just as much as when you got more views so focus on that and let that drive you

This had the unexpected result of yes, actually convincing me to finally ring that bell. What an amazing presentation, both in style of execution and the content it delivers. Totally gives you a way to wrap your head around the current state of YouTube, outstanding. I think the reason I've avoided ringing the bell for any YouTuber of late (even ones I absolutely love) is because, well, a reason I can't quite place my finger on but probably has to do with the click-baity nature of YouTube these days. However, this video definitely helps me see things from the perspective of these great YouTube creators and makes me respect their content AND even the quality of thumbnails that much more. The thumbnail really is like the album cover art of a video.

When I deleted my watch and search history from youtube, and set up my account to stop saving anything in search, something interesting happened. When I entered the main menu I noticed random or trending videos stopped appearing.
There were only the videos of the channels I subscribed to and the odd recommendation related to them.

My conclusion (obvious by the way):
YouTube recommends videos depending on the information you provide.

- Playback history
- Search history
- Reactions to videos (like and dislike)
- Comments on videos
- Subscriptions
- Channels blocked
- Videos marked as: "I'm not interested"
- Library ("Playlist", "Watch later")
- Your videos
- Clicks to the last videos (not the same as the history)
- Nationality
- Language
- Area in which you are connecting

Etc, and considering that YouTube belongs to Google, it has more means to follow recommending videos.
So, do you want to see a specific type of video? restrict as much information as you can and focus on what you want to appear to you.
