I think Netflix did their best, but it really fell short. They didn’t talk about the family dynamic or just really anything. Just a bunch of actors saying what they think happened or could’ve happened. I have so many mixed feelings about it.

I think the Brother may have gotten jealous of Jonbenet's success and how her parents payed more attention to her, he killed her, his parents covered it up so that they wouldn't lose two kids... my opinion

Obviously that's very unlikely but I am a strong beliver that Burke did it and the family covered it up

Y’all all sayin it’s the family but there was male dna from outside the family on her clothing and sexual assault signs as well. Even if they could be killers but sexual assault of there daughter? And dna of another male?

The brother did it, probably sexual abuse that'd been going on for a while, took her down to the basement so no one would hear, tried to hold her down and keep her quiet and injured her pretty bad, and either he or the dad (who he came to when he realized how bad he hurt her) came down and finished her off and tried to cover it up (the screwdriver and blood and tape and rock/brick thrown from the inside, come on)...

They chose to protect him against all odds and the mother didn't want to ruin their glowing reputation in their town, and we all know she was jealous of and didn't have her daughter's talent, so she helped write the over-detailed and illogical ransom note, overplayed the grieving mother, didn't show true care...

The family purposely fucked up the crime scene, not listening to commands, then first moving the body and then laid on top of her dead body and blanket to get their DNA on her so no one could tell...

The detectives did shitty work and were probably paid off, the father couldn't keep up his pathetic act, but the family was rich and had too much to lose (despite losing their daughter)...

So the family chose to keep quiet "bc of their lawyers or the trial or their grief", raising further speculation and attention, and then did weird media crap (NEVER w/their son until he was on Dr. Phil just a couple of years ago and made it completely obvious he did it)...

There was no other evidence of actual suspects (including the patsies that tried to take the fall and claim infamy), and everyone made it way too obvious they were hiding and faking their grief and in it for the attention and pity, still to this day, and the rest is infamous history.

To sum this up:
Poor little girl never stood a chance with that family.

I'm very curious to know if they focus on a specific theory or not, because they seemed to have reenactment scenes for various different theories such as the mother/bedwetting and the brother/flashlight/coverup...

The most disturbing part was at the end tbh. That little girl looked so much like her. The song playing in the background just made it worse. ;-;

The case so far wasn't solved. JonBenet would be 28 years old if she were alive today.

This movie is only understandable for those who are familiar with Jon Benet case because it's about the 'casting process' and not the actual story. Some of the actors are really good & it's interesting to see how we interpret the same thing differently, but the story's just flat.. Poetic & different, but it doesn't give me the emotional upheaval like I imagine. The actress who played Jon Benet maybe only has 5 minutes screen time in total.

Her Death will always be a mystery. No one really knows who did it. They just make assumptions of who did it. But the case won't ever be resolved. Rip JonBenet.

this was a terrible "documentary", i saw reviews and it is getting praised but i think it was just pointless. Definitely wouldnt recommend

• In Burke’s train room in front of the “Death on the Nile” movie poster is a can of “Dr.Pepper” in which the murderer liked to face the can’s label towards something he wanted to be noticed ..

• “Dr.Pepper” can is also left at Michael Helgoth’s supposed suicide .. “Dr.Pepper” can is facing towards Michael Helgoth’s body along with a pistol & stun gun.

JonBenet was “Face Down” in her bedroom & “Face Down” in the “Boiler Room” then dragged in the “Wine Celler” & staged “Face Up” ..

I feel bad for the actors who signed contracts to do these interviews. They basically made a fool of all of them. It’s a casting stunt directors will pull to get the content they want. Many of those actors embarrassed themselves unknowingly because I’m sure they did not know their interview would be the point of the film. They all thought they had a chance at an actual part in a movie - not knowing they were simply playing themselves. They even voiced their desperation for the parts on camera.

This special bored me. I couldn’t even finish it.

She was her mother’s way of living out the pageant life she wanted. So I don’t think the mom killed her. But she and the father definitely covered it up. And the dad picking her up and stuff like that I feel like would just be a fatherly instinct like dead or alive ur gonna pick ur child up especially if u have been told to believe she was kidnapped. Brother definitely did it though, possibly by accident. He most likely didn’t sexually abuse her either because there was no semen that the autopsy had revealed. She was most likely being an annoying little sister and wanted some pineapple so she took a piece and he freaked. The parents 110% covered it up because they didn’t even flinch when 10am had come and gone
