the show was SPECTACULAR but this trailer SUCKS, it makes it look like a shallow “quiet girl for popular guy” cliche story, but it’s way more complexed than that. absolutely recommended.

The show started out completely dumb and shallow and towards the end got so much deeper that the 9th episode made me cry. I was bullied heavily in school so I would be overemotional and angry at home and out of frustration my mom once said she preferred my brother (who was never a victim of that kind of trauma) because he was “easier”. We’ve patched that up slowly now but it had me hurting to see the mom be such a bitch to devi and helped justify why devi seemed so unlikeable at first

This show is basically like a less dramatic version of Violetta, but it's also like dance academy because of the way it's played out. 100% would recommend

And it has turned out to be so much better than what I expected it to be!

yall should really give it a chance, its not as cliche as it sounds. its a really fun twist of a coming of age high school drama with a lot of awesome indian cultures intertwined with it. it touches on grief, therapy, diversity, friendship and family. its actually more complex than what the trailer led on. i just finished watching it and mindy did an awesome job at this. what a good time to be a minority!!

The only problem I had with the show was that Devi makeS a really big fuss about moving to India.I mean I don’t get what is so wrong to move back to india? I mean the kids aren’t jerks and we definitely have so many non vegetarian food.
