Summary Comments : [Vox] How 9/11 changed Disney's Lilo & Stitch

Ik*******:
Don’t forget it shifted the series as a whole as well.

1. In Stitch! The Movie the titular 626 rewires it and effectively steals it to try and save Jumba from Gantu.
2. The ship was crippled when its hyperdrive was removed to shoot an asteroid away from Earth.
3. If I remember right the ship was used to work on experiments 627 and 628.

Top Comments : [Vox] How 9/11 changed Disney's Lilo & Stitch

Ai*********:

the final cut is alot better anyway, a jumbo jet wouldn't be very good for chasing a spaceship

Ri******:
Did anyone else feel like the music was
“Unnecessary”?

gr*******:
damn disney woke AF

Th******:
Just imagine if Lilo & Stitch came out in June 2001 instead and this scene was kept in... then 3 months later...

Po********************:
Investigate 7/11.

ja***:

Damn, this is pretty heavy stuff (Never thought I'd say that about Disney! )

ms*********:

This doesn't make any sense. They had to have taken the spaceship to get to earth in the first place! When did 747's become space capable?

sk***********:
Using a building as a ramp and avcelerator was so cool

fu******:
Lol at the serious music

Ma********:

So 9/11 is cannon in the Disney Universe

An******:
America's logic in tragedies:
Slavery: get over it!
Trail of Tears: get over it!
Imperialism: get over it!
Pearl Harbor: get over it!
9/11: Never forget!

Ma*****:

I prefer the island version, it suits the movie way better

Os***:

When you don't even think about 9/11, the original scene was still pretty gruesome with the plane wheels ripping art the buildings exterior.

Te**********:

He******:

Omg did you guy really need to put that sad music?

Ri**********:

This just proves Disney knew 911 before it happened

Mi******:

Imaging this movie was released the same day

M*:
What's the song in the background

Pu****:

The real person who was hurt was the ice cream, he got hit with a plane twice.

10***********************:

this is sad. im sad.

pa*******:

That explains why the fat guy was eating icecream in the middle of nowhere.

Ma*******:

It's funny how people think 9\11 changed the world and forgotten about the nuke on Japan that destroyed half of it

ca********:
It's crazy how much a national tragedy can impact our perspective on certain things, even animated cartoon movies with scenes like these felt wrong after 9/11.

Ho**:
These criminals have no idea what a pain it must've been to animate all of this

Da**********:

I'm shook, I used to love that movie back when I was like 5 years old.
I always loved that red spaceship, I tought it looked so good, plus it made sense that they had a spaceship since they didn't came on Earth with nothing, but a spaceship this big for 2 aliens... I never asked myself why back then, but now everything makes sense xD

I do admit that the original idea of that clash of technology of a so unadvanced human A 747 in contrast to an higly advanced alien craft was really interesting and I really like it as well.
But yeah understandable change...

se**************:
When I was 6 or 7, I remember seeing the deleted scene in a Blu-Ray, I thin. If it's not on blu-ray than it's a special edition version of Lilo and Stitch. I used to think the city scene was so cool and thought they should've kept this scene instead of the mountain scene. I had no idea of 9/11 and the impact it had on the movie industry, even Disney. Now, I get why they left the scene out, and I respect that decision. If they had left the scene in when the movie was first released, it would've caused controversy hotter than the core of the Earth.
