SK*:

in Pakistan, there is a saying, "If Success comes from hard work, then show me a rich donkey"

edit: some are very confused so im editing this for clarification purposes. this expression implies Hard work is not the only element which helps u be successful, luck counts aswell. So if u keep the context in mind of the video, u willl see that i didnt randomly write an expression. but to help understand the video better.
and if u dont like the expression, thats fine.

Al*****:

Moral of the story: if you got lucky, don't let it go to waste!

Ar*********:
My mother has taught me this: action is luck and luck is action

You cannot be successful without luck but you cannot be lucky if you weren't working

Mh**************:

If you isolate every variable in skill, I'm confident we would probably see that skill itself is based on luck

Ma***:
People who make videos like you do, are real leaders. I can't thank you enough for the brilliant insight you share with us. I have been able to give up regular television thanks to driven, intellegent, youtube-teachers like yourself. Never stop. What you do, is changing the world. Thank you

It seems that this paradox was described over 400 years ago by Ignatius Loyola: “Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God.” :)

Ma*******:
Your shout out to VSauce and how you met your wife really hit me in the feels.

ZL***:

“Do what you can to increase the luck of others” that’s rad.

PS********:
Celebrity motivational videos be like:

I was sitting on the porch one day, depressed, had nothing to do, I was weak. I was all alone. My dad walked over to me and sat beside me. My dad told me something that would forever change my life and set me u
For success, He told me “son, my multi-billion dollar company is yours now”

De**********:
"Yep, that is how I met your mother."

I'm not crying, you're crying.

Na****************:
Interesting perspective. I think a lot of success is also directly correlated with how creative a person is. Our society awards creativity. Another element is perseverance, most people who succeed don't succeed with the first attempt, it takes a few tries to fine tune the approach.

Du*****:
Derek admitting that his success is through luck immediately after telling the viewer that someone saying this makes them more likeable...

Da******:

Or Is He?

Ic**************:
The story of how he met is wife is amazing to me

Yi****:
I've always had this one philosophy: anything can be achieved with 3 inversely proportional things: Time, Effort, and Luck.

Mi**********:
Hard work positions you for luck to matter. Or, as Pasteur would have it, "Fortune favors the prepared mind."

Ge*************:

I was lucky to be born Australian, and it took an even larger amount of luck to meet and marry my wife who is from Mindanao Philippines, and to live there with her. She is hard-working, entrepreneurial, grew up poor, and acknowledges that she has been luckier than most in a country where so many people live below the poverty line. Because of this, she will give help to those poorer people whenever possible. This video was very well done. There are plenty of people out there who need to learn this lesson!

Aa******:

my mom stopped schooling at 8 years old, while my dad stopped when he was 15,both due to poverty. Statistically the cycle of poverty would continue, but a University opened up close to our home, and my father worked there as a gardener, there he borrowed books for me and opened up my interest in education and its importance. Now I'm working there as an academic faculty member, and people around would always ask how a barely educated gardener raise up an academician. Looking back, if we were just a few kilometres away from the uni, our lives could drastically altered, among other factors that are too long to explain. Today I try my best to help others who weren't so lucky.

Le****:

I was born in Afghanistan, even i don't know exactly my berth day, i don't know I'm 29, 30, 31 year old, I do not know exactly what to do with the rest of my life,
Now I'm living in Germany, peoples tell me You are an intelligent boy you are smart , But unfortunately very lazy, you have to work hard... , I never felt smart, There is no opportunity to find out am I a talented person?
But even i don't know how to explain them how hard i worked, they can't believe They can not even imagine living as a refugee in other countries,
When i say people I'm from Afghanistan sadenly change the way they are talking to me,...
This PARADOX ( THE SUCCESS PARADOX ) make me sad, confused, Depressed...
my English is not good, sorry about that.
However ever today i feel lucky because i found this chanel in YouTube

Rn**:

Actually, its been suggested to me a few times that key to success is first to achieve repeated failure. And it’s the lack of attempts or expectation of perfect results that limit success. How this relates to luck, is that mostly we conceal our failures and share our success distorting the path for others. If we fully witnessed paths to success, and celebrated the value of repeated failures we could more accurately account for the process of merit reducing that of chance. So to combat the excessive role of randomized luck in society we might broadcast our failures loudly and frequently.
