one thing about the mattress weight gain over time is also in oils from your skin. As a dirty slouch i rarely change my sheets, and recently finally did change them to get them washed, because the color had totally changed from how dirty i had gotten them. And it wouldn't just be skin doing this drastic of a change, it had to have a lot of oils and sweat (while they dry over time, there is a lot of residue left over. Like sweat leaves salts). So, it's actually pretty reasonable that your mattress can increase in weight substantially, though it's highly variable based on how often you change your sheets and if you have multiple layers between the sheet you sleep on and the mattress itself
