Actual solution: Provide piped water
Answer provided by government: GIANT BIRD

i'm an Indonesian myself but I didn't know the reason why Jakarta's sinking, I literally thought it's bc of the sea itself but it turns out that it's ourselves who actually made this sinking Jakarta.

bi************:

As Jakartans I'm just feel sad because foreign media are much concern about our problem rather than our government officials

Hi Vox, as an Indonesian and as a former resident of Jakarta, I cannot thank you enough that you brought up this topic to your platform. I sincerely hope this will raise more awareness and encourage policymakers to take concrete actions to tackle this issue. We really do not wish Jakarta to end up becoming a real Atlantis in an ironic sense.

Ve*********:
"The reason why Indonesia is sinking is because most of the people dont have enough water"

Well... problem solved.

The explanation I've been waiting for from a big channel.

Be**********************:
I love how when they were talking about designing the sea wall somebody actually thought that making it shaped like a bird was important and not a waste of brain power

Br*************:

If they’re willing and able to build a giant floating bird, why not just make water pipes?

Dh*********:

The government did care, when the presidential palace got flooded as well.

av**********:
So they're going to make a bird-shaped island that takes 30 years to complete (if ever undertaken), instead of giving them piped water?

Meanwhile Jakarta is being flooded right now. The timing of this video is...something.

Th**************:

I came to know about this last year from an Indonesian friend I met online. I couldn't believe that at first. I mean, the cultural and economic hub of a country which also happens to be the capital, with thriving culture and population, this all won't exist few decades later because it's sinking, FAST!! It really sounded horrific and I did some findings on internet and found out that Indonesia is shifting their capital to Kalimantan from Jakarta, although Jakarta will continue to play an important role in country's economy. I was relieved, but then realised that as usual, the poor people will suffer the most. Will they be given proper homes in the new capital? What about their earnings? What will happen to fishermen? When Jakarta completely sinks, will The other capital really be the perfect alternative of Jakarta? And within how long? Since they don't have much time

It was really something hard to think about,I discussed this fact with her,I mean that Indonesian friend. We both believe that yes, the new capital will be worthy to take the place of Jakarta and hope for the best. Lots of positivity and thoughts and concern from my side,India. I hope they figure this thing out and not even one person suffers in that capital shifting process.
