It's really strange not to mention Trevor Noah AT ALL. Whether people find him funny or not, he falls right into the same category at the other big four, and took over the show that was the starting point of 3 of them. It's a very strange choice to the point I wonder if maybe Vox asked for consent from each show to be mentioned and The Daily Show declined?

Vox, if that is NOT the reason, please never make this error again. Trevor Noah is amazing at his work and deserves every bit of credit when due.

The "show both sides of the story" mentality that it pervasive on US television is not journalism. It is a cop out pretend version invented after watergate made the media owners scared of ever doing any real investigative journalism. The "he said, she said" that has replaced it absolves them from having an opinion and gives equal credence to both sides under the guise of trying to be impartial. This puts nutcases on the same level as scientists and other things like that, harming everyone's credibility.

A two year old with a severe learning disability could cover politics better than most news channels.

I'm just cringing at the newscastors.

"They spend hours fixating..." 24 hour news only spent hours fixating on it so that they could create air time to pull some numbers to make money. 24 hour news channels should not exist. When you have 24 hours to state basic facts, you run out of things to say and then start random opinion segments to fill up time... meanwhile, those facts turn into a circus.

Comedians only have 30 minutes or so to share material about the news... you know.. the way news used to be before 24 hour channels existed.

Strange how the news is like, "It's not true. There is no evidence that this is true. However, here's a segment about why it is true."

Just leave it at untrue until you get cold, hard facts. The news is just giving him free publicity by continuing to talk about nonsensical claims. Really it should be like, "It's not true. There is no evidence that this is true. In other news, healthcare is actually kinda cool."

They would have so much time to talk about things that actually mattered if they didn't broadcast idiotic claims and remarks.
