after all the times in my life of seeing a red, full moon, I finally know what it really means, I'm speechless that I never was taught this when I was in school!!

So, in 1999 I was 14 and in the middle of nowhere with my dad near the France-Belgium border as we found a quiet spot to look at the eclipse. What struck me the most was the ambient light as the moon progressively blocked the the sun. It was dimmer and dimmer and... whiter, and the nature went silent, no noises from birds or insects, everything went shush as the sun dimmed, the world was just not the same. It was eerie.

The memory still gives me the shivers. If you have the opportunity, don't miss it.

I'm lucky, I got to see the great American eclipse in August 2017 in Carbondale Illinois. Had to drive like 8-9 hours from Chicago, but totally worth it!

I was so so happy to be able to see the August 2017 total eclipse. I believe I was in a place in the path where we got 80-85% totality but it was insanely cool.
