Playtime Comments : [Vox] Kanye, deconstructed: The human voice as the ultimate instrument

Da*******:
2:55 synthesized vocals section actually belongs to Michael Jackson's P.Y.T, sampled and edited by Kanye West. I wish more facts like these were included.

Em********:

6:08-I'm Hungarian and hearing that retro hungarian song from Omega was really not something I expected to hear in this video.

I going to go listen to Kanye now, looks like I need to educate myself.

Ia******:

4:18 Whats the background music of that guitar sample?

me*******:

Wait — the clip at 2:53 is a straight up sample from MJ's PYT. And is almost surely a processed voice, not a synth that sounds like one.

Vo********:
8:11 i would

Ri*********:
What's the sample that starts around 4:08? I've heard it used in several songs.

Bu***:

2:55 That P.Y.T by Michael Jackson

Aw******:
5:11 i like this version more than dancing ballerinas mv

Ta***************:
5:48 whats the beat?

Ni**********:
1:30 Was that the sound of the Bojack horseman intro I heard?

ju*******:
his last couple albums that he just released really verifys this analysis. vox called it and they were right , u guys should do an update because literally these last 3 albums he produced is the epitome of this video

ih***********:

I would have never thought that one of my comments would be featured on a video from a channel with over a million subscribers. Hopefully this video will get more people into Kanye.

Si**********:

if you dont like kanye's music, you just havent heard any

Pr*************:

Kanye is an icon! The man's music elevated my self esteem. I can't thank him enough.

Ma*************:
I used to not be able to stand Kanye when I was younger. But then I grew older and learned a few things about life and realized what he was about.

JL**:

Kanye knows how to make us tingle!
His music is a pure ASMR

x2*****:

This is why i laugh whenever people call him talentless. Every album has had such a different feel and unique mixes with different styles of rapping. His lyrics might not always be the most thoughtful but when you look at everything together he truly is one of the greatest artists ever.

Ka************:
Kanye IS a musical genius... and he knows it. That's his problem.

Wo*********:
New respect for Kanye! And I'll listen to him now

M*:

Good life might as well be called a rap remix of “P.Y.T.” Because that’s practically what it is

Ma*******:

The end of runaway is absolutely beautiful

Se********:
It's crazy how so much of the world has no idea how talented this man is. How can u not hear his genius.

Oo***********:

The only people who don't like Kanye are those who haven't listened to him

Ow*********:
kanye has brought hip hop into a whole new world of his own.

also kanye:
poopity scoop

Ma*******:
Yeezus is so underrated

Og**********:
5:03 travis scott does the same and you can tell travis is incredibly inspired by cudi and kanye

Ri*******:
I became a Kanye fan after watching this video. Thank you.

Pr**********:
"If you're a fan of Kanye West, you're not a fan of my music. You're a fan of yourself. I'm just the espresso"- Kanye West (2013)

I agree.

Ta***********:

I wish they made this after the release of Daytona, Ye, KSG and Nasir. The Kanye production on these albums is on point. He truely is a musical genius.

Bu*********:

See what he does in "Use This Gospel" on Jesus is King. Kanye is (looses all vocab)

Te****************:
Okay so his first actual Grammy was about Jesus... we should have seen Jesus is King

Al*******:

Anyone one who tries to separate Kanye’s music from his life, choices, and things that he says, does not truly understand what Kanye stands for and his music.

Ch***************:

Fun fact: Michael Jackson loves 808s & Heartbreak so much, he plays it to his children a lot.

Da***********:
Noooow Tyler, The creator pls

Be*****:

I never really gave him a chance as an artist. I just saw his egotism and stupidity in the media, and the fact that he married a portnstar, and decided I didn't need to ever listen to his stuff. But this video has me thinking maybe the music really is bigger than the artist and I should give his art a shot.

co*************:
Who edits Vox’s videos? They’re always so aesthetically pleasing.

mi**********:
the real artists are always the crazy ones

Ka**********:

If there's any kanye haters here. Please watch that video with an open mind

Se***:
I remember when I first started listening to Kanye at 10-11 years old. I would sit in the bathroom of my studio apartment when my mom was asleep, just blasting "Through The Wire" on my mp3 player ..and whenever we went to the mall I'd go into Barnes and Noble and look for the new Kanye album, and just blast that "Jesus Walks" sample over and over again. I don't know what it was that made me love his music from such a young age without really understanding the underlying message in his music, but to this day he is my favorite artist of all time. I remember paying an arm and a leg to get a close up seat during his TLOP tour, and as he exited he passed within 20 feet of me, and I saw him up close, and I can remember how numb I felt. I know it sounds crazy, but his music truly changed my life, he has saved me countless times, and I don't care how "crazy" he is, he will forever be a musical genius ...thank you Kanye for the music you make, and never stop.

Yo**********:

His treatment by the media is actually toxic to the core. He definitely does make outlandish comments here and there but for the most part he is actually a reasonable guy. As a huge long time fan I have seen aspects of his character that haters will never see because they don't even consider there to be a possibility of it existing. He is incredibly supportive of many other artists; sometimes too much so (VMA 2009), he is actually respectful to paparazzi when the sentiment is reciprocated (watch the video 'kanye west teaches the paparazzi some manners' for an example'), and frankly, he does not believe that his opinion is the only one that matters, he is just passionate about what he believes; e.g. in an interview he said that the people that he has around him are those that tell him things that they like to hear, not people that tell not to do something because someone else/ some group of people will not like it. He believes in his art so telling him not to do it is the opposing approach to the more effective suggestive method. People told him not to make Jesus walks because the Christian message would not resonate in mainstream media; turned out to be the route to bigger heights.
