I read "Extreme Ownership" on recommendation from a friend. It's a life-changing book to say the least. I started reading "The Dichotomy of Leadership" and listening to his podcast. I have also read "Leadership Strategy and Tactics", also a good book. Finally, I read "The Code". In all of his books, talks, and podcasts, he is consistent in his leadership and life philosophy. Since I have been listening, reading and learning from Jocko Willink, I have been given a significantly larger area of responsibility and the accompanying pay, followed by a even more significant promotion, and even greater responsibility. He is legit. His philosophy is legit. His books are legit. In any area of your life his principles work. Read, Listen, Learn, and GET AFTER IT!!!

with every problem in life, you must first identify that there is a problem, then identify the cause or causes of the problem. My Freshman year of high school was difficult because I could never bring myself to admit the fact that I was to blame for bad grades, and missed assignments. Until one day when my Dad, who served a year in Iraq as a doctor, gave me a similar talk to the one in this video, not nearly as passionately, and not as direct. But he said that the people who shift the blame never solve problems, but people who take the blame all themselves, often overcome the struggles that are in their lives. I ended that quarter with no missing assignments and passed all of my classes.
