You were great. I usually never comment, but I will here, because I want you to know this. Never mind all the negative comments. It is always easier to criticize, but difficult to deliver. Talking in front a huge crowd requires some serious balls of steel. Personally, I found your talk interesting and quite humorous. Kudos!

I keep finding TED talks that I like, then reading the comments and finding so much hate. Ridiculous. My invitation to all people on YouTube : keep your criticism to yourselves. Do something better with your time. Try to make the world a better place by maximizing, rather than minimizing others.
Anyway, loved this TED talk! I feel like his message is really sincere and the concern that he has for his brother is awesome. It's really sweet that he cooked for his brother during those two weeks. I have family members who struggle with being overweight and I'm thinking maybe I could do that for them. Inspired me! I wish I knew what his meal plans were....!

Se********:

Save yourself time, he just said don't keep bad foods in your house so they aren't a temptation. You're welcome.

wa*******:
1.st step: before you go to the grocery store that one day of the week, make sure your stomach is full....this way you'll buy a lot less junk, i promise...you'll only buy what you need :)

"To be successful, you have to minimize the difficult decisions being made." I love this

Mi************:
What a won brother you are, May The Most High God in Heaven bless you and your brother.

Al***********:
This is SOOO true. Environment is everything. How can you expect people, especially kids, to eat healthy when they are constantly surrounded with unhealthy foods? The way our society is structured obviously doesn't help, but conscious adults can make the decision to invest in healthier choices for both themselves and their kids. Vote with your dollar and invest in your health!!!

Sh*****:

I was inspired by how he made this presentation while being so excited.

I am a plant based health food reformer, we "veganize" all the old unhealthy American foods we used to love. I make most everything from scratch, soy sauce, butter, plant based ranch salad dressing ect ...make other "vegan meals" as well. It takes time to adjust the tastebuds but it is well worth it. In just 2 yrs, at 50 yrs old, I feel much better than ever and with a low thyroid. Am NOT taking the pharmacy junk med for low thyroid anymore but all natural medicines and feel so much better than when on the pharmacy chemical junk with a junk food diet.

Now I do not have to worry about clogged arteries from meat and cheese....

In time we will enjoy the healthy foods more and more and add to the list more of our favorite very tasty meals that we love!!

No animals were tortured for our tastebuds and plates of food.

It is a WIN WIN!!!

Bo***********:
damn boy u fine as hell

al*********:

Believe me or not, you said exactly what I needed! You told the truth!

I would LOVE to see all you TEDtalk experts give your speeches. You gotta start somewhere. Geez. Everybody's a critic.

ex**********:

Not everyone is so fortunate to have a nutritionists doing everything for them or to give an example, but I totally agree with your point that you have to change your lifestyle or environment

z7**:

Last slice of pizza tonight, i promise.

Jo******:

I love this, I actually cannot wait to take nutrition! York U Kinesiology represent!

Je************:
Way to go Luke, you handled that brain-block" masterfully! You took a breather, allowed the audience to commiserate, and continued on even though you lost your flow a little. You showed amazing control over your nervousness and spoke very clearly and well.

sb*************:
Certainly not the best speech I've heard, but he's really, really hot. Wow.

Si**********:

Love his humility!

pl*********:

Are people really criticizing this undergraduate student who came up and spoke in front of a decent sized crowd without a script or teleprompter?

Ty***:

2 million people watched this?
omg

JC**************:

One of the biggest problems is self love. Once we really start to love ourselves, we can then appreciate what good health can do for us. Many people dont have time for self love because they are taking care of others. It happens all over the world. Take time for yourself because it matters.

Wi***********:
Less is more... in every aspect of life... just food for thoughts... Cheers, guys !!!

Th**************:

I love how he talks about what he did and his idea with such passion. And I think that the fact that he got through with the speech even though he had some brain block was amazing. I find it inspiring that someone can overcome his nerves in order to talk in front of a big audience about something for the greater good. Besides, the message can help others like me to eat healthier. It is a valid suggestion and idea. So, thank you for overcoming the brain block and talking about your experience. Congrats.

Ta************:
Wow! Luke, your speech is so inspiring! I was an obese child and my early teenager years were a horrible time. From 15 to 18 I met a doctor that with a lot of pacience (no medicine, no surgery, just advices and understanding) helped me to loose 25kg and changed my life. I'll always be grateful to her. Since then I have been keeping pretty much the same weight. Enviroment matters! Now, I'm 34, have great eating habits (plenty of fruits, vegetables and cereals) and felt so happy to see the picture of your younger brother, proud of his achievements and secure of himself. Maybe you don't know but I'm sure that the greater change happened inside him. Congratulations!
