"following the food pyramid to the letter", I think that is a large part of the problem.

Patients can smell a physician's contempt from a mile away. It's why I'd rather take a beating than go to the doctor. Thank you for this video - some of the docs I've been to could learn a lot from you.

Ma*******:
Thank you for sharing

These institutions “we” created are no longer serving us us, the way we intended, when we created them.

You can no longer blindly rely on the
Medical institution, education institutions, Judicial system, banking institutions, pharmaceutical industries, and many other which are basically money making machines and employment agencies.

Each one of us must educate ourselves, and question our own motives, and discipline ourselves to be effective. like the man in this video.

Se****:
"I've decided that what I can't and won't do anymore..
is pretend I have the answers when I don't."

pretty much everyone of us needs to live by this.

Po***********:
When we know better we do better. We can only act on the information we have in our head at the time.
Forgive yourself for responding with your judgemental mind .Now that you know better .You do better.
And better !And better ! Your so lovely to listen to .And pretty easy on the eye I might say
Keep up with goals. Have subscribed and look forward watching more of your talks .

Wow, I got super choked up when he was on the verge of tears. I want this guy as my doctor.

Mu********:
OMAD, meal interval...

And finally someone from mainstream medicine looking at causes and being critical to their own theories.

Ja**********:

What changed my blood sugar levels was the removal of maltodextrin. I was drinking 6-8 bottles of flavored water a day. Eating healthy, watching the "white" stuff in processed foods. My sugar was constantly over 160 every day, some days it was over 200. I couldn't figure it out. Then I started looking at the "chemical" part of my diet. Ever since I stopped drinking the flavored packets in water, my sugar levels have been down to 119 on the high end. My resistance has improved, and I am losing some weight. So he may be onto something here. Great information in a very powerful presentation.

He****:
Amazing now we need someone to think in the same way about thyroid treatments
Well done Peter Attia

Aw**:

Amazing Speech
Our only hope for a change in the conventional wisdom is for every doctor to go through this and question it.

sh******:

corporations frown

Pa***********:
This has got to be the most powerful TED speech I've seen, and probably one of the most important ones.

Ga*****:
Doctors forget they are PRACTICING medicine!!
There is an unfounded arrogance I’ve personally experienced among doctors.
Disgustingly proud.

su*************:
Amazing!! I feel so proud to call you a college ! I wish this talk can also inspire other Physicians to serve patients under these principles. Our patients don’t need authoritarianism and judgments but empathy, care and compassion. Thank you so much. God bless you.

La******:

The interaction with that patient has weighed heavily on your mind. Wouldn't you be able to have records checked, logs of who was seen and find her to apologize in person face to face? Just try. Thank you for your insight. I am glad I found this video. You are a very good man.

Ja*********:
I love this man's passion for knowledge and his humanitarian thoughts.

Li*********:
Wow! This is an incredible example of the power of vulnerability. We need more doctors like him!

Sh*****************:
I've said this for years!!!! My insulin resistance led to my weight gain...not the other way around.

Er****:

Well done Peter.... I reversed my Pre diabetes.... thanks to Low Carb and whole foods approach.

Za********:

Dr Peter Attia......Your amazaing!!! I want to talk with you.......Your message is DEEP!! I was on Diabetes meds for 8 yeras....8 years!! 350 lbs. I wanted help so bad. I tried everything. I'm writing this and crying with so much deep appreciation for doctors like you who have taken the risk of questioning the status quo. I meet a Dr who believes and shares many of the same ideas about Diabetes and related ailments you mentioned. My AIC is back to range and have been off of meds for the past 4 years. I will continue to follow you!!! Your true love for human life is evident!! All the power to you!!

Ru********:

We begin our road to being wise when we recognize that we don't come close to knowing everything. As a young mother back in the sixties, Adelle Davis became my mentor. And because of her, I never did pay much attention to that "approved" food pyramid. The introduction of that horrible guide was the beginning, albeit slowly, of the obesity epidemic. Those who studied nutrition from the accepted experts ended up doing more harm than good. Ms. Davis went to actual scientific studies (that it seems most professionals either never heard of or ignored,) and wrote several books on eating for health including the dangers of eating refined sugars -- which includes refined carbs which turn to sugars. I bless that woman for opening my eyes. I am still learning; something we should never stop doing, and am thoroughly encouraged to see that there really are still open minded, ready to keep learning, doctors out there. Thank you.

To********:
This is without a doubt one of the most powerful videos that I have ever watched. I greatly appreciate all of what Dr. Attia publishes on the ketogenic diet and related subjects. He is brilliant and an incredible presenter but my one criticism has been that he hasn't always showed a particular kind or sensitive side in some of his interviews. Having watched this I'm now embarrassed at having once thought that.

I feel incredibly indebted to Dr Attia for sharing this. He gives me hope for future generations.
